Usage notes

When abbreviating a list, one or two items and ādi are combined to form a bahuvrihi in the plural. A section of a list may be delimited by also giving the end of the list, commonly by a bahuvrihi compounded from anta. This bahuvrihi may also be used to qualify a singular noun, in which case it will itself be in the singular.

Declension

As the final element in a bahuvrihi, the nominative, vocative and accusative plural neuter is ādīni.

Adjective

ādi

  1. initial, beginning

Adverb

ādi
