The development of б (b) to в (v) in the Nij dialect is expected: compare Vartashen баба (baba) ~ Nij бава (bava, “father”), абуз (abuz) ~ авуз (avuz, “more; abundant”), аба (aba) ~ ава (ava, “knowledgeable”), хабар (ꭓabar) ~ хавар (ꭓavar, “news”), etc.
