A late borrowing from Polish możliwy as a Carpathian regional Wanderwort; compare Belarusian мажлі́вы (mažlívy) and Ukrainian можли́вий (možlývyj). On the other hand, *možlivý is unattested in Old Slovak, and only marginally attested in Czech. By surface analysis, мог- (moh-) + -лїви (-ljivi).
