A Zan borrowing: compare Mingrelian ჭკუჯი (č̣ḳuǯi, vessel).[1] Ultimately from Proto-Georgian-Zan *č̣ur- (vessel). The forms կճուկ (kčuk) and կճիկ (kčik) are probably from earlier *կճճուկ (*kččuk) and *կճճիկ (*kččik), suffixed with -ուկ (-uk) and -իկ (-ik) respectively.
