Uncertain. Probably related to չեչ (čʻečʻ), չենչ (čʻenčʻ), չաչ (čʻačʻ) and possibly also to ճաճ (čač). According to Ačaṙean, a Georgian-Zan borrowing: compare Proto-Georgian-Zan *čečw- and Georgian ჭაჭა (č̣ač̣a). According to him, Persian جنجه (janja, “grape stone”) may be related as well.
