Literally "shovel for excrements" from փին (pʻin, “excrement”) + թի (tʻi, “shovel”). For such a figurative usage compare Constantinople dialect քաքի քյուրեք (kʻakʻi kʻyurekʻ, literally “shit-shovel”), հարկավորի / գործարանի / քենեֆի ավել (harkavori / gorcarani / kʻenefi avel, literally “toilet-broom”), which are similarly used as an adjective or adverb meaning "slovenly".[1]
