פֶּגַע • (péga') m (plural indefinite פְּגָעִים, singular construct פֶּגַע־, plural construct פִּגְעֵי־)

1. A wound, an injury.

פָּגַע • (pagá) (pa'al construction, passive counterpart נִפְגַּע)

1. To hurt or injure (someone or something): to cause a wound or injury, or other damage.
   1. Used with the preposition ב־ (b'-).
   2. (rare) Taking a direct object.
2. To meet.

     כִּי תִפְגַּע שׁוֹר אֹיִבְךָ אוֹ חֲמֹרוֹ תֹּעֶה הָשֵׁב תְּשִׁיבֶנּוּ לוֹ

     If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.

3. To entreat, to intercede.
