In Biblical Hebrew: Cognate to Arabic قُطْب (quṭb), and Classical Syriac ܩܘܽܪܛܒܳܐ (qurṭəḇā), ܛܘܽܪܛܒܳܐ (ṭurṭəḇā), ܩܘܽܛܒܳܐ (quṭəḇā), ܩܘܽܛܒܬܳܐ (quṭəḇtā, “puncture-vine”).
