أَهَانَ • (ʔahāna) IV, non-past يُهِينُ‎ (yuhīnu) (transitive)

1. to lower (someone or something) in value, character, esteem, or reputation, to degrade, to debase, to demean

   Synonym: اِحْتَقَرَ (iḥtaqara, “to deem to be of little value, importance, or significance or to treat as such, to belittle, to devalue; to disparage, to cry down, to scorn, to contemn”)

     The state television mentioned that Bouregaa is currently detained for "insulting a government department and demoralizing the military". It is possible for him to be imprisoned for these allegations for up to 10 years.

     In its official statement, Al Ahly Sporting Club said, "President Mahmoud El Khatib urged Ali Abdel Aal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives; the Egyptian leadership; and all Egyptian officials to enforce this law without delay and to revoke the immunity of the president of Al Zamalek, who insulted the whole country and slighted the one-hundred-million Egyptian population by claiming that Egypt is devoid of men, as seen in the video that has been trending on social media since yesterday, where he says that Egypt is 'a country that is full of sissies and faggots'".
