بهدین • (behdin) (plural بهدینان (behdinân))

     اینکه بهدینانرا می‌باید که خط اوستا بیاموزند پیش هیربدان و اوستادان تا در خواندن نیایش و یشت خطا نرود. بیشتر واجب مر هیربدان را و اوستادان را هست که همه بهدینانرا خط اوستا بیاموزند و اگر هیربد در آموختن ایشان تقصیر نماید او را عظیم گناه باشد.

     īn-ki bihdīnān rā mē-bāyad ki xat-i awastā biyāmōzand pēš-i hērbudān u awastādān tā dar xwāndan-i niyāyiš u yašt xatā na-rawad. bēštar wājib mar hērbudān rā u awastādān rā hast ki hama bihdīnān rā xat-i awastā biyāmōzand u agar hērbud dar āmōxtan-i ēšān taqsīr namāyad ō rā azīm gunāh bāšad.

     That the Zoroastrians should be taught the Avestan script by priests and Avesta experts so that there is no error while reading praises and yashts. It is more obligatory upon the priests and the Avesta experts to teach the Avestan script to all the Zoroastrians and if the priest shows shortcomings in his education of them, a great sin is upon him.

     بکرده دور سه فرسنگ جددین
     نمانده کس درو جز مرد بهدین

     bakarda dūr si farsang juddīn
     na-mānda kas dar ō juz mard-i bihdīn

     The infidels were driven out three leagues away,
     Nobody remained there except for men of the Good Faith.
