Akin to Manichaean Middle Persian 𐫐𐫀𐫓𐫁𐫏𐫅 (kʾlbyd /⁠kālbid⁠/) and Old Armenian կաղապար (kałapar), գաղափար (gałapʻar), Iranian loanwords. Doublet of قالب (qâleb), the same Greek word via Arabic.
