1. to cut off, to chop down

   ܒܸܪܩܵܐ ܩܛܝܼܥ ܠܹܗ ܡܸܨܥܲܬ݂ ܡܸܫܬܘܼܬ݂ܵܐ. ― birqā qṭīˁ lēh miṣˁaṯ mištūṯā. ― The electricity cut off in the middle of the party.

2. to cut up, cut short

   ܡܲܦܫܡܵܢܵܐܝܼܬ݂ ܘܵܠܹܐ ܕܩܵܛܥܲܚ ܠܵܗ̇ ܬܦܵܩܬܲܢ̈. ― mapšmānāˀīṯ wālē d-qāṭˁaḥ lāh tpāqtan. ― We will have to cut our interview short.

3. to interrupt someone speaking, cut off

5. (geometry) to intersect
