1. a weaned calf, a young bull that is older than a calf but not yet fully grown
   • c. 1200 BCE – 800 BCE, Kṛṣṇa-Yajurveda (Taittirīya Saṃhitā) I.8.18.4:

     सद्यो दीक्षयन्ति। सद्यः सोमं क्रीणन्ति। पुण्डरिस्रजां प्रयच्छति। दशभिर् वत्सतरैः सोमं क्रीणाति। दशपेयो भवति। शतं ब्राह्मणाः पिबन्ति।

     sadyó dīkṣayanti. sadyáḥ sómaṃ krīṇanti. puṇḍarisrajā́m prá yachati. daśábhir vatsataraíḥ sómaṃ krīṇāti. daśapéyo bhavati. śatám brāmaṇā́ḥ pibanti.

     On the same day they consecrate, on the same day they buy the Soma. He presents a lotus wreath. He buys the Soma with ten young bulls. the Daśapeya libation . A hundred Brahmans drink .
