Inherited from Proto-Dravidian *pōẓ. Cognate with Tamil பொழுது (poḻutu), போழ்து (pōḻtu, “time”), Malayalam പൊഴുത് (poḻutŭ), Kannada ಹೊತ್ತು (hottu, “time”), Tulu ಪೊರ್ತ್ (portŭ, “time, sun”), Gondi (poṛd, “sun, hour”) and Kolami పొద్ద్ (podd‌, “sun”).

ప్రొద్దు • (proddu) n (plural ప్రొద్దులు)

ప్రొద్దు (proddu) is a Class A noun, meaning the stem does not change in the oblique form.
