หาย

From Proto-Tai *ʰrwɤːjᴬ (“to disappear”). Cognate with Northern Thai ᩉᩣ᩠ᨿ, Khün ᩉᩣ᩠ᨿ, Lao ຫາຍ (hāi), Lü ᦠᦻ (ḣaay), Shan ႁၢႆ (hǎai), Tai Nüa ᥞᥣᥭᥴ (háay), Phake ꩭႝ (hay), Ahom 𑜑𑜩 (hay) or 𑜍𑜩 (ray).

1. (archaic, intransitive) to ruin, to wreck; to collapse, to fall; to perish, to be destroyed; to end, to pass.^[1]

     ผู้ใด...หายกว่าเหย้าเรือน...ไว้แก่ลูกมันสิ้น

     pûu-dai ... hǎai gwàa yâo-rʉʉan ... wái gɛ̀ɛ lûuk man sîn

     Whoever...passed away household...devolve upon his children in its entirety.
