Georgian
Etymology
From Vulgar Latin dalabra, from Latin dolābra (“pickaxe”), perhaps via an unattested Byzantine Greek term. Very close in form to Old Armenian դալապր (dalapr) borrowed from the same source.
The word must have originally referred to a kind of axe, whence Old Georgian გამოდალაბრვა (gamodalabrva, “to dig, cut, gouge out”).
Adjective
დალაბრა • (dalabra) (comparative უფრო დალაბრა, superlative ყველაზე დალაბრა)
- blunt (of an axe, knife etc.)
