Etymology
From early Middle Persian *tāpak, attested in late Middle Persian as tʾp̄k' (tābag); see there for more. According to Ačaṙean, possibly borrowed via Old Armenian տապակ (tapak). ტაფა (ṭapa) is a later borrowing, ultimately from the same Iranian source.
