Tocharian B

Etymology

Cognate to Tocharian A śiśäk (lion), which is likely influenced by śiśri (mane). If common ancestry with Chinese 獅子 (MC srij tsiX) is to be accepted, Proto-Tocharian *ṣīcäke may be tentatively reconstructed, from Proto-Indo-European *sih₂tekó- (maned one), which is related to Latin saeta (bristle).[1]

Noun

ṣecake ?

  1. lion
