  2. (auxiliary, dated, now dialectal) indicating politeness

    • 1799, Shiba Shinkō, Shinagawa Yōji (品川楊枝):
      (いま)はかういふ(かほ)がはやりやんす
      ima wa kō iu kao ga hayariyansu
