     1979 nián, Pǔzhèngxī yù shì shēnwáng, Quándǒuhuàn yǔ qí “yīxīnhuì” chéngyuán fādòng “shuāng shí'èr zhèngbiàn”, tuīfān dāngshí quánguó jièyán sīlìngguān Zhèngshēnghé jí jiàkōng dài zǒngtǒng Cuīguīxià, chéngwéi guójiā shízhì de lǐngdǎorén.

     In 1979, Park Chung-hee was assassinated, Chun Doo-hwan and his Hanahoe members then staged the Coup d'état of December Twelfth to overthrow then martial law commander Jeong Seung-hwa and made acting president Choi Kyu-hah a figurehead, therefore became the de facto leader of the country.

     As the Hanahoe was very influential within the military, Chun Doo-hwa mobilized 6,000 soldiers on 12 December to attack and occupy the Ministry of National Defense and other military institution and arresting his boss—martial law commander Jeong Seung-hwa, in an event later known as "Coup d'état of December Twelfth"...

     Later, Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min strongly criticized that "The National Police Station Commander Meeting is not only a violation of the Civil Service Act punishable by criminal penalty, but also very similar to the Coup d'état of December Twelfth staged by the Hanahoe."
