From Literary Chinese 天上天下,唯我獨尊, a variant translation of 「天上天下唯我為尊」, from Buddhayaśas's and Zhu Fonian's Chinese translation of the “Sutra of the Great Origin” in the Dirgha Agama; compare the Pali aggohamasmi lokassa, jeṭṭhohamasmi lokassa, seṭṭhohamasmi lokassa ("Chief am I in the world, Eldest am I in the world, Foremost am I in the world!") in “Mahāpadānasutta” in Digha Nikaya.[1] These were stated to be among the Buddha's first words after birth.
