Etymology

Original meaning was apparently “edge”. Related to (OC *ɦljun, “bank of a river”), (OC *djɯn, “eave (i.e. edge of a roof)”) and (OC *kljɯnʔ, *klɯnʔ, “ulcer of the lip”) (Wang, 1982).
