From (はら)() (haradatsu, mizenkei form (はら)() (haradata)) + しい (-shii, adjectivizing suffix evoking quality of the suffixed term).[1] 腹立つ (haradatsu) is a form of 腹が立つ (hara ga tatsu) with the subject marker (ga) omitted. The tatsu changes to datsu as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
