Mycenaean Greek
Etymology
Cognate with Ancient Greek καρπός (karpós), thus apparently from Proto-Hellenic *kərpós or *karpós, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *kerp- (“to cut off; to pluck, harvest”). However, the /ar/ is problematic, and Beekes following García Ramón argues that the expected Mycenaean reflex would be /or/.
Noun
𐀏𐀡 (ka-po) /karpós/
- fruit
