Cognate with Avestan 𐬁𐬯𐬥𐬀 (āsna, “noble”), Khotanese (āysña-, “well-born, noble”), the first component of Middle Persian (ʾznʾwl /āznāwar/), as well as Old Armenian ազն (azn), Old Georgian აზნაჲ (aznay), აზნაური (aznauri), Iranian loanwords.
