Categories with terms that are in general use but not common.

To categorize into this category, use {{tlb|langcode|uncommon}} (template tlb, not lb), which should typically be placed next to the headword. (langcode is the appropriate language code for the language in question; see Wiktionary:List of languages.)

If the term is merely a variant (alternative form) of a term in general use, it should be categorized instead in ] (using {{uncommon form of|langcode|...}} or {{uncommon spelling of|langcode|...}}). If only some senses of the term are uncommon, it should be categorized instead in ], using {{lb|langcode|uncommon}} (template lb instead of tlb), which should typically be placed next to the individual sense.

Uncommon terms should be distinguished from rare terms, which are infrequent enough that they are sometimes not recognized by native speakers.
