- No, "Auto racing" isn't acceptable; it doesn't mean the same thing. (um, motorcycles? ;-). And most of this terminology is from European/international sport, where it is "motor racing", US parochialism notwithstanding. Think this was discussed somewhere before. - Okay. I am sorry; I could have been a bit slower in this action. Do you have a link to the discussion? I have found nothing in the talk pages of the two categories, so I thought the topic has not been discussed before. --Daniel Polansky 11:28, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Then the synonyms given in auto racing entry are probably wrong, and someone in the know should better remove those that are unfitting. --Daniel Polansky 11:41, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have now turned "Motor racing" into a supercategory of "Auto racing", based on your feedback, and on the assumption that motor racing also includes other types of racing, like motorcycle racing. --Daniel Polansky 11:49, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
