Etymologically, Palladian only refers to female Greek figures named Pallas (Greek Παλλάς Pallás), which are based on the root pallad-. For male Greek figures (Greek ΠάλλαςPállas), such as the titan Pallas and Pallas the father of the Pallantides, which are based on the root pallant-, the adjectival form is Pallantian. For modern, non-Greek names the form may be Pallasian, as it is for Peter Simon Pallas.
