Pelkosenniemi

Pelkosen + niemi. Named after Paavali (Paavo) Matinpoika Pelkonen (Påhl Mattsson, 1624/1626—1715), the first settler, who built a farmstead named Pelkola; this in turn was used as the basis for the toponym.[1]
