Attested only indirectly though its derivative *ostrujiti.[1] Either from the same origin as *strujiti(“to gush out”) or from proto-Indo-European *strew-(“to strew, to construct”). In the later case, the term would be a cognate with Proto-Germanic*strawjaną(“to strew”) and indirectly with Latinstruō(“to compose”).
