@माधवपंडित IDK if Sauraseni is attested, but it should be 𑀚𑀽𑀤 (jūda) if it is (Woolner mentions 𑀚𑀽𑀤𑀺𑀅𑀭𑁄 (jūdiaro, gamester, gambler)). The form you gave is Maharastri, which is the default in most grammars and dictionaries (including Turners). —Aryaman (मुझसे बात करो) 18:47, 16 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@AryamanA: I see.. apparently Sanskrit -t- was not dropped in Sauraseni but instead voiced, I keep forgetting that. Hindi Shabdasagara gave "प्रा० जूत" which was in fact Pali. Does Turner give Sauraseni at all? In the entry there was "jūa --, jūva" for which I assumed the first was Maharashtri and the second was Sauraseni. Thanks for fixing it! -- माधवपंडित (talk) 01:47, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
@माधवपंडित: No problem! Nah, Turner only gives Maharashtri. I'm not sure what Shabdsagar does, but it seems to be Pali like you said. Normally I try to guess the Sauraseni using the sound changes I know of, but often Pischel's and Woolner's grammars list variants for all dialects, which can be useful if one has the time to look through them. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 02:15, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
