@Onionbar Out of curiosity, from where do these usage examples originate? —Suzukaze-c (talk) 09:09, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you can understand Chinese, it's called "新時代日漢辭典" by 大新書局. Since it's in Chinese, I have to make up the English translation myself. Sorry if it's bad. (Also I didn't add full-stop on the "入る" page is because I always forget about basic punctuation, sorry!) Onionbar (talk) 18:33, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yikes, I forgot about this.
@Onionbar: I'm not totally comfortable with copying entire usage examples from another dictionary. It's probably fairly copyrightable, as they are fairly creative. —Suzukaze-c (talk) 06:52, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
That's definitely a problem I forgot about. I sometimes do change up the sentences a bit. I'll make sure not to use examples from there. Thanks for telling me. Onionbar (talk) 21:37, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Onionbar Just to be safe, do you think that you could look through your edits and attribute sentences to 新時代日漢辭典 (like a normal quotation)? —Suzukaze-c (talk) 08:06, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I am not too familiar with how to add quotations to a sentence, though. I'll look into how to correctly quote the sentences later to-day or this weekend. I return to most of the old pages I've edited to fix or improve the example sentences after about a month or two. I'll mark down the ones I know for sure it's from the dictionary; think up a new example sentence and replace the old ones that are using the dictionary's example. @Onionbar: Wiktionary:Quotations. We could also make a template for holding the important text in one place, similar to Template:RQ:zhx-teo:Fielde Dictionary. —Suzukaze-c (talk) 23:32, 15 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Shen233 Asking the same question to you: where do your usage examples come from? :P —Suzukaze-c (talk) 08:29, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

In short, from a variety of source when I see something interesting. Here are several sources I have used.
1.https://dict.hjenglish.com/jp A chinese to japanese dictionary which contains many usage examples
2.Example sentences from jisho.org, which comes from the tatoeba project I believe.
3.Simple usages appeared in daijirin, daijisen and other monolingual dictionary.
4.Occasionally using sentence from the Chinese wiktionary
5.From youtube, anime... but usually modifying it to make it simple and straightforward
Most of the time I made up the english translation so it's not always good.Shen233 (talk) 15:28, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
