Neither of those is English- I have my doubts as to whether they exist at all. Latin borrowed Ancient Greek ἀρκτικός (arktikós) which probably derives from Ancient Greek ἄρκτος (árktos), though there are homographs that apparently derive from Ancient Greek ἄρχομαι (árkhomai) and Ancient Greek ἄρχω (árkhō) nowhere is there anything like *Latin arctis/*Ancient Greek ἀρκτις (arktis) or *Latin arctida/*Ancient Greek ἀρκτιδα (arktida) (I'm omitting accents, because accent placement is beside the point). The correspondence of "c" to "k" in English borrowings doesn't apply to words in other languages except Greek- and that's only because Latin is involved.
