On the first - it's correct as it stands. Added the noun and expanded the original definition a little (obviously this is not a definition in the mathematical sense).
- There were numerous problems with your definition. The major problem was that you used the word itself in the definition - making it meaningless. You also included etymological information in the definition instead of adding an ===Etymology=== section. Rather than attempt to fix it, I just reverted the edit.
