Hi Gliorszio-san,
Is there any reason you deleted 接続 from the Japanese translation in the sense of telephone connection and replaced it with 連絡?
For the sense of the word, such as "My phone is connected", it is translated as 「電話が接続できている」. I think the sense you have added is "I have been able to call Bob" as 「ボブに連絡取れた」
Also, I don't agree with your adding 縁故 to the sense of the word feeling of understanding and ease of communication between two or more people. This word, means more of the networks between people.
Do you agree?

- For the sense of telephone connection, 接続 is electrical/mechanical connection, and your explanation for 連絡 is correct. 連絡 is not used only phone but post/(e-)mail. 縁故 is equivalent the French word connaissance. ―Gliorszio 11:58, July 31, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your explanation.
- So, wouldn't a translation for An established telephone call be 接続 and 連絡?
- I am familiar with the French word connaissance, but isn't the sense of the word, A feeling of understanding and ease of communication between two or more people a little different?

(Never mind the x spelling; it's the same word.) Evidently means something like "on this topic".
- 1953, Samuel Beckett, Watt
- Watt decided in the end that an examination of Erskine's room was essential, if his mind was to be pacified, in this connexion.
