I'm not a native speaker, but I think I've heard this pronounced /ˈdaɪ̯ɹɛkt/, perhaps chiefly when the following noun has initial stress as well. For example direct contact as /ˈdaɪ̯.ɹɛktˈkɒn.tækt/.
