From the research I've done on the word, it is not know for sure that it came from daisy so bring forth the question of the polish word duży, meaning 'big'. Zephalis 19:43, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

There's a statement that the word "doozy" was first used in the early nineteenth century, which may or may not be true; that's irrelevant. What matters is that the footnote purporting to support that statement does not even contain the word "doozy" in it. I am removing that reference and the statement it purports to support.
