For the record, I have nothing against this entry, but I don't find the THUB argument very convincing: why wouldn't freedman be sufficient? We already have a whole slew of translations there. Is there a difference between a freedman and an ex-slave? PUC – 15:19, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
I am not sure every translator will see it like this. The resulting translations are likely to be different, even if it is not logical, so we get more entropy. The main reason to keep this entry is however that it designates a certain present status of a person, rather than a historical state of random implications, just as ex-wife.
