Another use

I believe that "forget" has another use, as a stative verb, as in "I forget how to do that." = "I don't remember how to do that." This is not the same as "to lose remembrance of" or "to cease remembering" , both of which refer to a change of state. Comments, anyone? Duoduoduo 15:11, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agree. I also just heard my boss (from the UK) use it as an interjection. "Forget!" as in forget it. DAVilla 15:53, 17 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Include?

Should "derived terms" also include "forgettable"? Ghost Protocol (talk) 22:33, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciation

"Cease remembering"

I don't think that's a correct wording for that definition. If we're struggling to do something and I say "forget about it", I don't mean you should literally wipe it from your memory. It means stop considering it important. Same if you're upset and I say "forget about what she said to you", I'm not really suggesting you'll "forget" it. 76.100.241.89
