Can we clarify...are we actually saying that Galoshes and Wellies are the same thing, or that occasionally people wrongly refer to wellies as galoshes? The definitions are different?20.133.0.13 09:14, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Well, given the current definition that's listed for wellington boot, they sound exactly like galoshes. FWIW, I think they can still be listed as synonyms, even if you do clarify the definition to explain what about a Wellie is actually different? --Connel MacKenzie 14:38, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Wellingtons are a tight fit, are higher than galoshes, and don't undo at all down the side - you couldn't get them on over a pair of shoes. SemperBlotto 14:44, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- In America, we call something like that a pair of galoshes. No such thing as wellies over here. --Connel MacKenzie 14:58, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Um, WTF? There is no such thing as a wellington boot in America. How can one possibly list that as an American meaning?
Errr, the intention was to say that in America Galoshes are the same as Wellington Boots. Now it may just be me, but now it reads that in UK Galoshes are Wellies, which they aren't...LOL 20.133.0.14 08:27, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
