So "they" is used as the new gender neutral third person singular personal pronoun. I guess it's OK, but it still does sound strange. It would be better to use "she" as a gender neutral pronoun, women then could not claim sexism. There would be a loss for women, though, since one would never be able to tell then whether "she" refers to
