According to this entry, hullo is a "variant of hello.", on the other hand Wikipedia says that "Hullo was never a salutation. It was only used as an exclamation of surprise." While it is true that nowadays, hullo and hello might be used interchangeably, it is not correct that they are synonymous (at least not originally). V8511:57, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
