Request for removal of quotation

To all persons responsible for the maintenance of this page, having consulted with Wiktionary's Public Policy Counsel Allison Davenport, I am asking you to remove the quotation from my book, Human Physics. The "niggerfucker" statement made in a work of fiction I composed is not how I wish people to regard my name or assume a certain reputation. I used this quote only to show a period in Toronto's history where racism against Africans and African Canadians was particularly horrific.

I have written to your legal department and pleaded with you to stop quoting from my book of short fiction as it implies an attitude I do not share. You may be equating me with a character I created, not me myself.

I kindly ask you for the last time: do not restore the entry with reference to my book or my name. I do not wish to be equated with the racial hatred currently destroying the United States. Please respect my wishes in this matter!

P.S The quote is regarding your entry in Wiktionary:

"Niggerfucker"

(highly derogatory, ethnic slur) One who has sexual intercourse with black people. 2011, Mansour, Christopher Michael, Human Physics: An Anthology of Short Fiction, The Seashell Books, →ISBN, page 98: They keep saying ‘your mom is a nigger-fucker, your mom is a nigger-fucker’.

I've removed the quotation for now, without prejudice to further discussion on the matter that other editors may wish to initiate. It's likely that other quotations can be found that would illustrate the sense, so the one referred to here is probably not essential. — SGconlaw (talk) 19:48, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I wonder if we could quote it in a way that doesn't mention the author, e.g. using ISBN. But really a published book becomes a matter of public record and I'm not sure that we should automatically remove stuff because the author repudiates it. I agree that other examples can be found though. Equinox 20:14, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
As long as we have sufficient other citations for the term I don't object to removing this one, especially since he asked nicely rather than making legal threats. On the other hand, we have no way of knowing that this request genuinely comes from Mr. Mansour and not some rando on the Internet, although I can't imagine why anyone would pretend to be him in order to make this request. —Mahāgaja · talk 07:16, 5 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Done Done Looks like it's been removed now, so all good. Equinox 21:47, 22 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Same Hollinghurst-derived quote used for two senses

The short phrase "Fuckin' niggerfucker", quoted from the works of Hollinghurst (where it apparently appears in the speech of a skinhead), is used two cite both senses... - -sche (discuss) 17:14, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I moved the quotation out from under the first sense (to the citations page). I also moved a quotation about Daughtry which seems more like it's sense 2...? Really, we may need to RFV this (unsurprising, given the creator). - -sche (discuss) 17:20, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
