The picture caption reads "A sign to tell visitors to this retail outlet that nothing is available." But to me "nowt left in here" reads as "no valuables are left in this building". Emma May Smith (talk) 18:34, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

The explanation now reads: "indicating to visitors that there was no more cider available". This is quite surprising, not to say disturbing, for the reader of the wiktionary. Nobody would imagine one minute that cider would be available from a place in such a state. Doubtless, obviously, the only meaning can be: "don’t bother to break in; there is nothing valuable to be stolen in there". Then there is no reason to be specific about cider. One thinks first of money or equipment. Unfortunately, my own language is not English and I would prefer somebody else to reformulate my tentative "don’t bother to break in; there is nothing valuable to be stolen in there". --DominiqueM (talk) 11:35, 29 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
