- Many of the hits for spellings with "h" refer specifically to the character, which thereby do not count as references to the term as defined in this entry. I haven't taken the time to count or sample count the relative frequencies at COCA. This gives a reasonable estimate of frequency in the US. We should check at google news and google books too.
