@Equinox: I'd like to hear more about the reasoning of why a success (which you used countably, meaning that it's a specific instance of success, not the idea of success in its entirety) cannot by any means have a purpose that would justify the wording sometimes in the def. As you can see in the exhibit A of success, it refers to the accomplishment of one's goal/s, such that a success is an occasion where one reaches an aim. Quite intuitively, aims are not always absolute or final in nature. An aim can be, and sometimes evidently is, in turn, a means to a further aim, such that a success can have a purpose of its own. For example, a success in a postgrad study can be originally for the purpose of following a career in industry. When one exploits their exceptional success in postgrad studies and turn instead for academia, that would be them riding the crest of the wave. What am I getting wrong?
