I'm very excited to male my first Wiktionary post here, adding Synonyms. I am much more familiar with Wikipedia format. I would appreciate a feedback comment on my talk page.
I believe that tier, stage, level are all related in describing a physical structure (platform) or conceptual progression (phase). It would require a lot more work for me to justify this with references. Are references required? Anon lynx 21:50, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Rfv-sense: (transitive, medicine) To assign (an ulcer) to one of the stages defined in the National Pressure Ulcer Staging System. (If the stage cannot be identified then it is said to be unstageable.)
This seems like a broader concept; see the general concept of cancer staging, or this proposed staging system for COVID-19, or this 1975 article describing the general 'staging' concept in medicine. ("The "staging" concept provides a system which classifies patients with similar medical conditions into clusters useful for patient care evaluation.") grendel|khan 18:47, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
RFV-passed based on @Grendelkhan's cites and @SGconlaw's rewording. Kiwima (talk) 22:06, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
