Neither can be used attributively, which may argue against labelling them as adjectives. However, that is how the Turkish Vikisözlük classifies them both, and so does the German Wikiwörterbuch. Wikipedia calls them “descriptive adjectives”. I’ve also seen them described as (extremely) defective verbs, but that is a bit far-fetched, linguistically speaking. In any case, “determiner” seems completely off the mark.
