This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections and on talk pages to cite various editions of John Camden Hotten's work A Dictionary of Modern Slang. It can be used to create a link to online versions of the work at Google Books and the Internet Archive:
The template takes the following parameters:

– the template defaults to the 1st edition (1859) of the work. To cite the 2nd edition (1860), use |edition=2nd
. To cite the 5th edition (1874), use |edition=5th
