Usage

This template gives a shorthand for the Ethiopic-Latin dictionary of August Dillmann, a link for downloading the whole dictionary, links for provided column numbers, and links to provided entries in the digital transcription of his dictionary. Even after the publication of the Ethiopic-English dictionary of Wolf Leslau Dillmann’s dictionary is considered irreplaceable particularly because of the quotations included in the latter.

Parameters

  • It takes the parameters |column= and |columns=, because the dictionary does not have page numbers but column numbers.
There will be a link to a scan of the page of the first column number you pass to the template.
  • It takes the parameter |entry= together with a column parameter or without it.
The pagename is currently not used for filling this parameter in the case that the editor does not specify the entry.
There will be a link to the digital transcription of Dillmann’s dictionary if you provide |entry=.
